This course will discuss the signs that go beyond depression to reveal active suicidal or self-harm risk. We will address the prevalence of suicidality in long term care settings, elevated risks in care transitions, steps to improve the comfort and ability to conduct effective interviews and risk assessments, the Baby Boomer cohort effect, and provide clinical tips and resources. This course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and is therefore appropriate for the PT/PTA.
