Mike is an excellent speaker with great examples. While I was somewhat familiar with the concepts he reviewed, his examples really brought it to life and drove the message home. I now feel like I have so many new strategies to use with my patients.

FABULOUS. My specialty is in Chronologically Controlled Developmental Theory. In a nutshell, the less cortical stimulation (talking) during motor & sensory experiences visa via learning (enviromental or task oriented), the more dramatic the reduction of impairment with functional tasks. No revisiting or loss of function once therapy is over (in non progressive diagnoses). Thank you! I am inspired to attend other sessions as this type of therapizing is not traditional path.

Great information that can be applied to any age group. I typically give the kids I work with choices throughout the session and feel like they are more engaged when I do so. After this course, I feel like I can explain to parents a little bit better how to work with their child to achieve optimal independence. Thank you!

I work with students that have cognitive challenges along with some severe medical issues that impact their movement. Although I understand the psychology behind Optimal Learning, it is not very applicable in my world and in general, Pedicatrics is paly based so there is natually external focus on many of the goals. While I enjoyed this course, I do not feel it is very applicable to pediatric populaiton other than an orthopedic or rehab model of treatment

Wow! This instructor was amazing and I wish I would have learned about OPTIMAL Theory sooner. I have worked for 20 years with pediatrics and using the OPTIMAL Theory did occur naturally many times didn’t have a name for it but it worked. It did occur less with my older students compared to my younger, non-verbal, and cognitively delayed children. Seeing it used with adults makes me want to look at working with adults or geriatrics some day.

Dr. Studer is thorough in his explanations of OPTIMAL and the effect on pt/ pt progress and motor learning. I have been practicing for 30 yrs and feel that this concept bridges the gap I have been seeing with some patients who seem stuck in the internal / cognitive processing of movement. Thank you! I am excited to incorporate into assessment and rx.
