- After this course, participants will be able to identify intrinsic and extrinsic fall risk factors through comprehensive patient evaluations
- After this course, participants will be able to differentiate how to use different standardized assessment tools for the prevention and management of falls in the home care setting (e.g., Timed Up and Go (TUG), Berg Balance Scale, Fall Risk Assessment Tool).
- After this course, participants will be able to evaluate patient-specific risk factors such as muscle weakness, balance deficits, medications, vision impairment, and home hazards.

PT, DPT, PhD, NCS
Christopher Voltmer, PT, DPT, PhD, NCS, received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York Institute of Technology in 2008. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Academic Achievement Award and the NYPTA Participation Award. Dr. Voltmer has worked in various clinical settings while specializing in Neurological rehabilitation. He has been board-certified as a Neurological Clinical Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties since 2013. He defended his dissertation in March of 2023 and received his PhD from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Voltmer has been a full-time Associate Professor at Touro College since 2014 and teaches the Neurologic curriculum.
