In order to make meaningful contributions to general education Response to Intervention (RtI) activities, school-based occupational therapy and physical therapy practitioners must understand the RtI model and their role as part of the collaborative early intervening team. Polichino, OTR, MS, FAOTA has 30 years of experience delivering, managing and administering early intervention and related services for school districts and charter schools in the greater Houston, TX area. She is former chairperson of the Early Intervention and Schools Special Interest Section for the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. and is an active contributor to professional publications on leadership, management and practice issues related to school practice. She is former Presiding Officer of the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE) and i a former member of the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners. Jean currently works as a consultant to Texas school districts offering assistance with management of related services as well as professional development for school therapists.
