Participants will explore strategies for proactive screening, interdisciplinary collaboration, and clinical decision-making while considering Medicare coverage requirements, documentation expectations, and the distinction between skilled therapy and routine maintenance or wellness services. Current Medicare guidance and relevant evidence will be incorporated to help clinicians identify appropriate referrals and support medically necessary, person-centered therapy services.

Kevin Cezat, PT, DPT, GCS, RAC-CT, CAPS, is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy and the Director of Clinical Excellence at Therapy Management Corporation. With 15 years of dedicated experience in long-term care, Kevin leads national initiatives across more than 20 states, championing clinical best practices, evidence-based care, knowledge translation, and technology integration.
He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Geriatrics Skilled Nursing Facility Special Interest Group and is an active member of the APTA Joint Government Affairs Committee. He is also a frequent speaker and continuing education (CEU) presenter, sharing his expertise with fellow clinicians.
Kevin earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Central Florida in 2011 and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Oakland University in 2008. He achieved his board certification in Geriatrics through the ABPTS in 2019, holds a RAC-CT certification from AAPACN, and earned his Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designation in 2025. Bridging his deep clinical expertise with health systems technology, Kevin is currently pursuing a Master’s in Healthcare Informatics at the University of Central Florida.
