The presenter is clearly very knowledgeable. I think that she might benefit from working with a speech coach to help develop her presentation skills. She said, "um" and "uh" very frequently and hesitated quite a few times. This made it more difficult to listen to the presentation.

It wasn't the instructor's fault, because much of the information was what was provided in published journals. I am just discouraged that all the peer reviewed studies are not published. It seems to me if it doesn't fit the narrative, it is discarded or debunked. I see a sea of children with autism and if there was a way to stop or slow this epidemic, I beg those who can help to do so.

I was hoping for more specific diagnostic criteria and how to work with people who identify as autistic in PT. I work in out patient with an adult orthopedic population and a number of people with hypermobility. I am seeing a huge increase in patients who are diagnosed or have self-diagnosed as autistic and want to know how to work with them effectively to treat their orthopedic problems, including eye contact and pathological demand avoidance.

Great topic and material. The presenter mostly just read from the slides and then seemed not to address clearly the question regarding preferred language. It would have been helpful if, instead of just reading from the slides that she share more about her experience working with this population and their families. Seems she has more academic experience than practical experience- which, if true is fine, but the practical, I feel greatly enriches the learning outcomes.

I enjoyed the speaker's vocabulary and knowledge of the topic as well as her consideration to respect biases and appreciate that people come from different perspectives about autism. I have personally been very relieved and helped to learn I am autistic (at 52 years old) and am learning to take better care of my needs (such as avoid overstimulation and allow rest after intense events... like going to work, social events, etc.) and allow myself to reap the joy of following my special interests.
