Recent research reveals a continued lack of outcome measure utilization in the clinic despite efforts from the APTA over the last ten years. This course will explore barriers to the sustainability of outcome measure programs in the clinic and discuss recent evidence demonstrating the power of outcome measures regarding prognosis, plan of care, and clinician decision-making for the stroke population.

The purpose of this course is to provide solutions that will address pelvic hike in individuals with neurologic impairment that are within the scope of practice for physical therapist assistants.

An overview for healthcare professionals about Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders is provided in this course. Characteristics of the dementias, such as symptoms, progression, and how they are diagnosed, are described. Care planning strategies for improving communication with patients and families, understanding and managing behavioral challenges, and promoting independence are also discussed.
