RED-S: The Relationship Between Disordered Eating and Athletic Injury
This presentation introduces the condition termed Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) and explains its pathophysiology. It discusses subclinical disordered eating behaviors among athletes, and how those behaviors lead to the development of RED-S. Participants will learn how to prevent, identify, and treat athletes with RED-S. This course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and athletic training and is therefore appropriate for the PT/PTA and AT.
