This presentation will include practical clinical applications of the latest evidence in recovery from stroke: acute and chronic. Participants should be ready to challenge commonly-held beliefs and practices about stroke rehabilitation in terms of timing and potential; learned nonuse; and the viability of neuroplasticity for persons > 1-year post stroke. Practical applications in this course through video case studies may stretch your mind on how to promote neuroplasticity in all patients. This course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and is therefore appropriate for the PT/PTA.
