At the bottom of each course detail page, you will also see the statement, "This course is offered for CEUs (Live or Homestudy level) by the Florida Physical Therapy Association/CE Broker."Courses offered for FL Athletic Trainers (ATs) are approved by the Board of Certification Inc. Remember that this reporting feature applies only if you are a member of CE Broker and would like them to maintain a record of your CEUs.
Please note that if you did not request PhysicalTherapy.com to report a course that you completed more than 45 days ago, you must self-report your coursework to CE Broker. Your PhysicalTherapy.com course transcript or the individual course certificates of completion may be submitted as documentation.
What is the difference between CEUs and the length of a course (course hours)? How does this relate to CCUs?
Course length is reported differently by different associations and state licensing boards. Some use the internationally recognized Continuing Education Unit (CEU) as the standard unit of measuring participation in a continuing education course. One (1.0) CEU is defined as 10 hours of participation in coursework. Therefore, a single hour of participation in a course is equal to 0.1 CEUs. Some associations and state licensing boards use clock hours. ProCert/FSBPT awards CCUs. CCUs are a unit of relative value of an activity based on its evaluation against a rigorous and comprehensive set of standards representing the quality of an activity. The CCU determination is a valuation applying many factors including, but not limited to, duration of the activity. No conclusion should be drawn that CCUs correlate to length of the course (e.g. hours).
