This course will cover surgical updates for both total knee replacement and partial knee replacement. It will include benefits of both surgeries and reasoning behind the surgical decision as well as operative technique, outcomes, and future directions.

The current opioid epidemic in the United States has renewed focus on the importance of non-pharmacologic approaches to management of chronic pain. This course consists of two, one hour courses on neuroplasticity in Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis individuals. The purpose of the course regarding individuals with MS is to provide clinical guidance to Multiple Sclerosis rehabilitation specialists on how to utilize principles of neuroplasticity to improve clinical outcomes. An evidence-based approach will be utilized focusing on current research and its clinical implications. The purpose of the course regarding individuals with Parkinson's is to discuss the concept of “Neuroplasticity” versus “Neuroprotection” in the framework of Parkinson’s Disease. Opportunities to affect potential change through clinical interventions in various settings will be discussed.

What is the difference between screening and testing? What is the science of imbalance? What are the differences between unsteadiness, imbalance, dizziness, lightheadedness, and vertigo? How do I document to prove my worth, my role, or this patient’s potential? What is the evidence for helping someone improve balance? What is the best method to select the most sensitive and responsive balance test for each patient? What psychological influences could be involved with this person? The answers to these questions and more are in this seminar intended for advanced dizziness management- differential diagnostics and treatment. Expect practical techniques, readily applied to the clinic, incorporating current evidence and revealing future advances in balance and dizziness rehabilitation. This presentation will discuss the continuum of providing care to children in the home care environment and will include aspects of care in Early Intervention, pre-school and school-aged children. It will cover essential components to include in a pediatric physical therapy evaluation and development of a care plan and interventions. This presentation discusses different chronic diseases and the impact that they have on the older adult in the home. Secondly, in consideration of chronic conditions a patient might present with, the presentation offers the learner evidence based means of examination and intervention. This session will describe classifications of urinary incontinence, treatment and education to initiate in any physical therapy setting, and when to refer to a specialist. Constipation and pelvic organ prolapse will be addressed and its affects on urinary incontinence. Finally, patient care case studies will be presented that will help the learner with problem-solving how to incorporate pelvic floor interventions into their treatment plans, along with appropriate goal writing.
