Patients with COVID-19 present with new symptoms and impairments and the virus is creating new challenges to the practice of PT. Patients experience a broad range of pulmonary and musculoskeletal impairments depending on the severity of their disease presentation. This course will discuss characteristics of the COVID-19 patient presentation, considerations therapists must contend with in treating patients with COVID-19, and PT care interventions for these patients through the continuum of care. This course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and is therefore appropriate for the PT/PTA.
