According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), nearly 1/3 of the world’s population is infected with tuberculosis (TB) and it is considered one of the world’s deadliest diseases. We will define TB and discuss treatment, prevention, and strategies utilized when working with a patient with TB.

Nannette Hanlin, RN
Nannette graduated with honors from the University of Akron in 2000 with her Bachelors in Social Work. She advocated for victims of crime for nearly four years at a local victims assistance agency. She spent the following two years working in foster care and adoption before going back to the University of Akron to complete her Bachelors Science Nursing degree. She spent two years working at a level one trauma burn unit before transitioning to home care. She most recently was employed as the Cardiopulmonary lead clinician for Gentiva Home Care. This position enabled her to assist with staff development and continuing education.
