Domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of income, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or religion. It is shown that domestic violence costs the United States billions of dollars per year. Many reports say that one in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Domestic violence occurs in same-sex relationships, and men can be victims as well. Understanding the warning signs and prevention techniques may help to decrease the prevalence in the United States. US rules, regulations and laws contribute to the foundation of this course.
