The presentation will utilize the clinical decision making model to serve as a framework for developing an effective plan of care for patients who may have primary or secondary cardiovascular problems. Assessment and treatment parameters will apply across the lifespan and within various PT settings. This is Part 2 of a 2-part course. Course one concentrated on assessment. Part 2 concentrates on techniques and treatment.
Learning Outcomes
- Discriminate between normal & abnormal responses to assessment and/or treatment in making informed decisions about continuance of a given activity eg ‘stay or go'.
- Develop a physical therapy plan of care giving consideration to the cardiovascular demands of exertion for patients with either primary or secondary cardiovascular problems.
- Consider and apply contextual factors in developing a problem list, goals, prognosis and a plan of care for patients with cardiovascular pathology.
